* Building on the foundation of Gemini 1.0 and 1.5, Gemini 2 is designed for the “agentic era,” enabling AI systems to understand, reason, and act more effectively in a variety of contexts. Gemini 2 Flash introduces a new Multimodal Live API, enabling real-time audio and video-streaming input for dynamic application development.
* OpenAI's o3 family of reasoning-focused AI models employ advanced techniques like reinforcement learning and “private chain of thought” processes to simulate step-by-step logical thinking.
* Sora is OpenAI's advanced AI model developed to create realistic videos from textual descriptions. Sora Turbo, is now available as a standalone product at Sora.com, exclusively for ChatGPT Plus and Pro users.
* Amazon Nova is a collection of advanced AI models introduced by AWS as part of its Bedrock AI platform. The Nova lineup includes several models, each catering to specific use cases. Amazon Nova Micro is a text-only model that delivers low-latency responses at an exceptionally low cost, making it ideal for applications requiring fast and efficient text processing. Amazon Nova Lite, a multimodal model, excels in handling text, image, and video inputs with lightning speed while maintaining affordability. Amazon Nova Pro offers a balance of accuracy, speed, and cost, making it highly versatile for a range of tasks. Meanwhile, Amazon Nova Premier, the most advanced model, is designed for complex reasoning and serves as an excellent teacher for distilling custom models.
* Marco-o1, developed by the MarcoPolo Team under Alibaba International Digital Commerce, is an advanced large language model designed to excel in reasoning and open-ended problem-solving tasks. The model leverages cutting-edge techniques such as Chain-of-Thought (CoT) finetuning, Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS), and innovative reasoning strategies. Built on the Qwen2-7B-Instruct architecture, Marco-o1 has been fine-tuned using a combination of opensource CoT datasets, proprietary synthetic data, and customised instruction datasets. The integration of MCTS allows the model to evaluate multiple reasoning paths by assigning confidence scores, while its reasoning action strategies refine problem-solving through granular, step-by-step actions. - Times Techies.AI
* In the universe of science innovators are finding that AI hallucinations can be remarkably useful. The smart machines, it turns out, are dreaming up riots of unrealities that help scientists track cancer, design drugs, invent medical devices, and even win the Nobel Prize. David Baker of the University of Washington who shared the Nobel Prize in chemistry for his pioneering research on proteins cited bursts of AI imaginings as central to “making proteins from scratch”. AI, he added, has helped his lab obtain roughly 100 patents, many for medical care. AI hallucinations are reinvigorating the creative side of science. They speed the process by which scientists and inventors dream up new ideas and test them to see if reality concurs. It’s the scientific method —only supercharged. What once took years can now be done in days, hours and minutes. Pushmeet Kohli, the head of the science division at DeepMind, a Google company in UK, praised hallucinations as promoting discovery. - NYT
* The phrase "Chaos isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder" is a quote from the character Littlefinger (Petyr Baelish) in the Game of Thrones series. This quote reflects the idea that chaos and disorder can be leveraged as a means to gain power and ascend to higher positions.
The idea is rooted in medieval political philosophy, specifically the concept of "Machiavellianism." The 16th-century Italian philosopher, Niccolò Machiavelli, argued that leaders should be willing to use cunning, deception, and even cruelty to gain and maintain power. The phrase "Chaos is a ladder" refers to the idea that in times of turmoil and chaos, ambitious individuals can seize opportunities to advance their own interests.
* Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu is the richest CM in the country with assets over Rs 931 crores according to ADR.
* "Power is the most addictive of all drugs. Most people will do anything, betray anything in order to keep it." - Gautam Mukunda, History: The Interesting Bits
