* With Azure, you can build, deploy, and run container-based applications in the cloud or onpremises with a choice of leading open source tools and technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, and DC/OS—all supported by Azure. Azure provides multiple options for your containerization strategy, including Azure Kubernetes Services (for containers as a service) and Web Application for Containers (for deploying containerized web apps). You also can directly deploy Azure Container Instances without having to provision any VMs - Expedition Cloud: inside Microsoft’s cloud migration and application development journey
* Site Recovery Deployment Planner is a command-line tool for both Hyper-V to Azure and VMware to Azure disaster recovery scenarios. You can remotely profile your VMware VMs by using this tool (with no production impact whatsoever) to understand the bandwidth and storage requirements for successful replication and test failover.
* Red Hat saw a million-dollar opportunity in OpenStack. It went full steam in making sure that OpenStack is tightly integrated with its enterprise operating system, Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Fast forward to 2018, and the company has shifted its focus to the Kubernetes-based container platform, OpenShift - Forbes
* The three Rs of enterprise security — rotate, repair and repave — take advantage of infrastructure automation and continuous delivery to eliminate opportunities for attack. * Soy is a rich source of phytoestrogens, also called isoflavones, which mimic the effects of the hormone estrogen. Both people assigned male and female at birth typically have estrogen — those assigned female just have more. So, does eating a lot of soy cause a hormonal imbalance in people assigned male at birth? Since we have this subconscious, ever-present fear of death, we employ magical thinking to give us a false sense of power over it. When we create artificial threats to our survival in our imagination, and then avoid practicing behaviors that make us vulnerable to those threats, we feel we have some power over whether we live or die. Interestingly, giving advice rather than asking for it may be an even more effective way to overcome motivational deficits, because it boosts confidence and thereby spurs action - HBR

* South Korea’s strict drug laws stretch overseas — and citizens can be punished for smoking abroad, even in Canada. Prosecutors frequently indict returning citizens.
