* Azure Disk Encryption uses the industry-standard BitLocker feature of Windows and the dm-crypt feature of Linux to provide volume encryption for the OS and the data disks. The solution is integrated with Azure Key Vault to help you control and manage the disk encryption keys and secrets in your key vault subscription. It ensures that all data in the virtual machine disks are encrypted at rest in Azure Storage.

Azure Security Center provides integrated security monitoring and policy management across your Azure subscriptions.

* An NSG is a firewall, albeit a very basic one.  It’s a software defined solution that filters traffic at the Network layer.  However, Azure Firewall is more robust.  It’s a managed firewall service that can filter and analyze L3-L4 traffic, as well as L7 application traffic.  Azure Firewall provides the same capabilities as an NSG, plus more. NSGs and Azure Firewall work very well together and are not mutually exclusive or redundant.  Together, they provide better "defense-in-depth" network security.  You typically want to use NSGs when you are protecting network traffic in or out of a subnet.  An example would be a subnet that contains VMs that require RDP access (TCP over 3389) from a Jumpbox. Azure Firewall is the solution for filtering traffic to a VNet from the outside.  For this reason, it should be deployed in it’s own VNet and isolated from other resources.

* Data centre tiers are classification levels used to quickly identify the complexity and redundancy of the data centre infrastructure being utilised. Tier 1 is the simplest infrastructure, while Tier 4 is the most complex and has the most redundant components. Each tier includes the required  components of all the tiers below it.

CloudEndure can perform automated migration to AWS at no charge. Each free CloudEndure Migration license allows for 90 days of use following agent installation. During this period, you can start the replication of your source machines, launch target machines, conduct unlimited tests, and perform a scheduled cutover to complete your migration. After this free 90-day period, your machines will stop replicating and new target machines cannot be launched. If you did not complete migration within the free 90-day period, you can still migrate  at no cost by reinstalling the CloudEndure agent on the applicable machines with a new CloudEndure Migration account. This will allow you to perform replication, testing, and cutover for another free period of 90 days. While the use of CloudEndure Migration is free, you will incur charges for any AWS infrastructure that is provisioned during migration and after cutover, such as compute (EC2) and storage (EBS) resources.

Understanding cause and effect is a big aspect of what we call common sense, and it’s an area in which AI systems today are clueless. AI can’t be truly intelligent until it has a rich understanding of cause and effect, which would enable the introspection that is at the core of cognition.

* Microsoft has been named in Visionary in the Gartner Magic Quadrant categorization for Data Science and Machine Learning (DSML) Platforms. The core product considered for this Magic Quadrant is Azure Machine Learning (Azure ML)  and the supporting portfolio of products includes Azure Machine Learning Studio, Azure Data Factory, Azure HDInsight, Azure Databricks, Power BI and other components. For on-premises workloads, Microsoft offers Machine Learning Server. Azure ML has plenty to offer citizen data scientists in the form of drag and drop and augmented analytics, without losing its identity as a platform for experts.

*  Databricks’ Unified Data Analytics Platform spans data science, ML and data engineering, emphasizing ease of infrastructure automation and scalability. Rooted in Apache Spark, Databricks keeps contributing to the open-source community by leading MLflow, Delta Lake and Koalas.

* Types of Analytics:
- Descriptive = hindsight
- Diagnostic = oversight
- Predictive = foresight
- Prescriptive = insight (descriptive & predictive)
- Cognitive = the "right sight"

* Till the late 1850s, all dyes used for colouring cloth were natural substances, many of which were expensive and labour-intensive to extract—and many lacked stability, or fastness. The colour purple, which had been a mark of aristocracy and prestige since ancient times, was especially expensive and difficult to produce, as the dye used, known as Tyrian purple, was made from the glandular mucus of certain molluscs. Henry Perkin serendipitously discovered the first synthetic organic dye, mauveine and filed for a patent in August 1856, when he was still only 18.  Coal tar, the major source of his raw material, was an abundant by-product of the process for making coal gas and coke. By laying the foundation for the synthetic organic chemicals industry, Perkin helped to revolutionize the world of fashion - Wikipedia

* Ahmedabad was established on the banks of the Sabarmati river in 1411 by Sultan Ahmed Shah, some 81 years before Christopher Columbus discovered America in 1492. At 609 years, it is older than India's mega metros like Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. The city's main spoken language, Gujarati, is highly influenced by Persian - Rediff

* Under Mughal rule (1526 to the mid-18th century) Agra was the highest tax-paying city and Ahmedabad was a close second, suggesting how trade flourished in both cities.
