This Week I Learned -

* Most Google Cloud services have Cloud Logging built in, such as App Engine Flexible and Standard Environments, Kubernetes, Istio, Cloud Functions, and Dataflow. Admin Activity audit logs are kept for 400 days while Data Access audit logs are only kept for 30 days.

* Nutanix is running an email campaign projecting itself as a VMware-friendly alternative. It starts with "vmWhere? Concerned about TCO, service levels, and more, due to Broadcom’s recent acquisition of VMware?"

* FreedomGPT is an uncensored and private AI chatbot launched by Age of AI, LLC. It makes use of Stanford's Alpaca models. FreedomGPT Desktop App works even if you are completely offline

* There is an AI Tutor "model" that can be configured based on a learner's requirements. It amazed me to know there are so many choices to how we can choose to learn 

* IIT Madras offers an online B.Sc. course in Programing and Data Sciences program. It allows even students in Class XI and XII to apply & join the program without writing JEE. There is however a Qualifier process and exam. There are also Diploma programs in Programing and Data Sciences open to anyone who has completed any UG degree.

* Indian micro-data sets (also known as unit-level or raw data sets in Indian academic parlance) useful for economic analysis.

* Airbnb was launched in India in 2016, and it currently offers unique accommodation options such as homestays, private rooms, and villas in over 100 cities.

* The Swiggy-Zomato dominance in the $50 Bn food services market is being challenged by ONDC. Zomato commands 55% market share, Swiggy has 45% market share. Their commissions ranged from only 2-5%, but have now inflated to 18-24% of the average order value. Recently, Swiggy started charging a platform fee of INR 2 per order, irrespective of the cart value. Industry experts estimate the platform commissions and third-party logistics charges to be nearly 8% of the average order value on ONDC, which is still way less than 18-24% in commissions charged by Swiggy and Zomato. - Inc42
