* SQL Server Managed Backup to Microsoft Azure is recommended for SQL Server running on Windows Azure Virtual Machines. It stores the metadata in the msdb database and uses system jobs to write full database and transaction log backups. SQL Server Managed Backup to Microsoft Azure can be configured at the database level or at configured with default settings for an instance of SQL Server.
