* To recover from availability problems that affect your Azure API Management service, be ready to reconstitute your service in another region at any time. Depending on your recovery time objective, you might want to keep a standby service in one or more regions. You might also try to maintain their configuration and content in sync with the active service according to your recovery point objective. The API management backup and restore capabilities provide the necessary building blocks for implementing disaster recovery strategy. To move API Management instances from one Azure region to another, use the service's backup and restore operations. You can use a different API Management instance name or the existing name. API Management supports multi-region deployment, which distributes a single Azure API management service across multiple Azure regions. Multi-region deployment helps reduce request latency perceived by geographically distributed API consumers and improves service availability if one region goes offline.

* Originally, Azure had a service called Azure Container Service. This supported not only Kubernetes but also Apache Mesos and Docker Swarm. With Kubernetes seeing its popularity outgrow the competition by a significant margin, Azure replaced its Azure Container Service with Azure Kubernetes Service in June 2018.

* The Xbox Game Pass streaming service uses containerd and ephemeral disks in AKS to reduce latency.

* Frustration also scales - When your Kubernetes deployment environment reaches...complexity and scale, the maintenance overhead for service owners increases. Just checking the status of a service first requires hunting for it across multiple clusters. This can reduce productivity (and patience) company-wide.Backstage, is Spotify's open platform for building developer portals. Backstage Kubernetes simplifies your deployment workflow by connecting to your existing Kubernetes implementation and aggregating the status of all your deployments into a single view — even across multiple clusters in multiple regions. As a standalone monitoring tool,  Backstage Kubernetes can improve the experience of any developer who deploys to Kubernetes. Although at Spotify we currently use GKE extensively, Kubernetes in Backstage communicates directly with the Kubernetes API and is cloud agnostic, accordingly. It will work with other cloud providers, including AWS and Azure, as well as managed Kubernetes services, like Red Hat OpenShift.

* You can tell if an image has been created by OpenAI's AI system DALL·E 2 if the un-cropped image contains a signature that looks like a row of colored squares at the bottom right of the image. 

* InAppBrowser.com is a tool to list the JavaScript commands executed by the iOS app rendering the page. The creator of the tool Felix Krause, has found that TikTok injects code into third party websites through their in-app browsers that behaves like a keylogger. When you open any link on the TikTok iOS app, it’s opened inside their in-app browser. While you are interacting with the website, TikTok subscribes to all keyboard inputs (including passwords, credit card information, etc.) and every tap on the screen, like which buttons and links you click. Some apps, like Instagram and Facebook, inject JavaScript code into third party websites that cause potential security and privacy risks to the user.

* Ophthalmic plastic surgery is a speciality branch of ophthalmology that deals with deformities, tumours, orbital fractures (when there is a break in one of the bones surrounding the eyeball) and cosmetic concerns of the structures around the eye.

* Wagner-Jauregg (1857 – 1940) was an Austrian physician, who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1927, and is the first psychiatrist to have done so. His Nobel award was "for his discovery of the therapeutic value of malaria inoculation in the treatment of dementia paralytica". The main work pursued by Wagner-Jauregg throughout his life was related to the treatment of mental disease by inducing a fever, an approach known as pyrotherapy. From 1917 to the mid 1940s, malaria induced by the least aggressive parasite, Plasmodium vivax, was used as treatment for tertiary syphilis because it produced prolonged and high fevers (a form of pyrotherapy). This was considered an acceptable risk because the malaria could later be treated with quinine, which was available at that time. His main publication was a book "Prevention and treatment of progressive paralysis by malaria inoculation" (1931). The technique was known as malariotherapy; however, it was dangerous, killing about 15% of patients, so it is no longer in use. Many schools, roads and hospitals are named after Wagner-Jauregg in Austria. Wagner-Jauregg advocated a racial hygiene ideology called eugenics, influencing students such as Alexander Pilcz, who went on to author a standard handbook on racial psychiatry critical of Jews for being prone to mental illness. He was also an advocate of forced sterilization of the mentally ill and criminal. He was President of the Austrian League for Racial Regeneration and Heredity, which advocated sterilization for those of inferior genetics.

* Al Jaffee has contributed several articles to MAD magazine on inventions and gadgets, which are presented in an elaborately detailed "blueprint" style. In a patent file for a self-extinguishing cigarette, the inventor thanked Jaffee for providing the inspiration. Other actual inventions that have since come to pass had appeared earlier in Jaffee articles, such as telephone redial and address books (1961), snowboarding (1965), the computer spell-checker (1967), peelable stamps, multi-blade razors (1979), and graffiti-proof building surfaces (1982). 

* Kabuki is a classical form of Japanese dance-drama. Kabuki theatre is known for its heavily-stylised performances, the often-glamorous costumes worn by performers, and for the elaborate kumadori make-up worn by some of its performers. Kabuki is thought to have originated in the very early Edo period, when founder Izumo no Okuni formed a female dance troupe who performed dances and light sketches in Kyoto. The art form later developed into its present all-male theatrical form after women were banned from performing in kabuki theatre in 1629.
